1 Timothy 4:12 . . . but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.
Jesus gave us the great commission – to go out and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (Mt 28:18-20). We often find reasons not to reach out to others; evangelism isn’t one of my gifts, I don’t know the bible well enough to answer their questions, I’m not a very good public speaker or maybe hey, I’m new at this myself so who is going to listen to me. Timothy may have had some of the same doubts. Paul told him not to fret, just go out and live it. Our lives are the most effective tools we have in sharing the message of Christ; our actions, our words, our love for others, our active trust in God and integrity of heart. The great commission isn’t what we say, it’s how we live. We are to be an example of who Christ is. What example are we setting?
I loved this post. It’s such a sweet, honest, reflective thought… not wordy or preachy… just… Christian. Thank you for sharing.
God bless you!
Love,
Diana

I’m sorry it doesn’t make sense. Is there something in particular that you don’t understand?
In 1 Tim 4:12 the apostle Paul was telling a young believer that he should set an example of himself as to how Christians should conduct themselves “speech, in life, in love, in faith, and in purity.”
