Titus 2:12

Titus 2:12 It (the grace of God) teaches us to say “no” to ungodliness and worldy passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age . . .

God’s grace took the form of man in the person of Jesus Christ. God’s grace self-sacrificed in the form of His crucifixion. God’s grace brings life, revealed at His resurrection. Our understanding and appreciation of His grace teaches us how to change. Not only does it teach us, but we WANT to change. Are you saying “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions?

  1. I am so glad you made this point, Alex. It seems that no matter how I say it or how many times I say it, people still don’t get it. When we truly embrace God and Christ, we are given two things: 1) a heart full of love and, 2) the mind of Christ. These two things motivate us, create a desire in our being to “do all that God has commanded.” We don’t do those works because we think they will save us, we do them because we love God and Christ and earnestly want to please them. After all, it gives God great pleasure when His children do as He has commanded, nothing more and nothing less. LOVE IS THE MOTIVATOR.

Thank you for posting this brief yet powerfully true article. :)

  3. My confidence more often that it should is in myself. A good reminder about how we can loose focus.
